The Phoenix Estate was home to hundreds of creative individuals and Samira became invested in trying to protect the community, from designing flyers to creating a magazine showcasing the estate, to organising a festival in which all the warehouses opened their facilities and put on displays and live music. Samira even joined the Lewes Community Land Trust as a director and co-ordinated a bid of £5 million with the Guinness Trust in order to try and buy the Pheonix Estate for the community. Currently the site is being developed by Human Nature.
