Reflections of humanity

Retrospective exhibition 09
light space

Samira has been working a professional artist for over 10 years and has completed a BA in drawing at Camberwell College of Art, studied renaissance art in Florence, expressionistic life drawing with Meriel Gold and technical life drawing at The Prince of Wales Studios in East London.

Samira's work is unexpected and exciting because she is not fixed to a style or medium. Naturally through experimentation one form leads to another and it is possible to see the interweaving threads of her artistic journey (especially in the retrospective collection). However, it follows no current trends or superficiality, her work is an integral part of her life, who she is and the development relates directly to her experiences.

Some of the art you will see is intellectually based, an idea or a concept about life through which she has found an interesting perspective. Some of the work is emotional, deeply personal expressions which brewed inside until the tension had to be released. But the work which she loves the most is the soulful art which has no emotion or meaning it just is the exploration of energy through line and colour and harmony can only be created when Samira is in what might be called a zen place.
